Rather than face a costly legal battle with the major film studios, several websites that enable users to download movies, records and other software with the BitTorrent program have shut down since being notified that they were being sued. The Associated Press reported on Monday that among those to shut down was one of the most popular file-sharing sites, Suprnova.org. A statement posted on the site said, "We are very sorry for this, but there was no other way, we have tried everything." Other sites that shut down included N4p.com, torrentbits.org and torrents.com.
Well I cant believe all the major torrent sites are running scared of the MPAA! I mean I understand why they had to make an example of Supanova as it was the most mainstream/well known torrent site out there, but torrentbits.org shutting down as well, and in fear??!! Damn!
The MPAA obviously mean serious business - there are a few good torrent sources still out there, but i'm not at liberty to reveal any links.
I wonder whether its just a matter of time before they bite the dust too!
