SONY SUCKS -The UMD debacle continues..

Further to my Sony PSP UMD Disc debacle, I contacted Sony Computer Entertainment America last night to see where I stood in regard to obtaining an exchange.
To be honest the guy was helpful, although he lied, saying that no one at Sony had heard of that UMD problem before (a quick google search provides proof to the contrary. Everything was cool until I told him that I was calling from London England. "We only ship exchanged products within the US" he said. Sure, that was no problem, I could have it shipped to my Aunt in Van Nuys CA. The guy then put me on hold, mumbled in the background to his manager and returned to tell me that it was Sony policy to void all warrenties if the PSP is taken out of the country.

I can see why Nintendo fanboys constantly chant "SONY SUCKS!"

WHAT A RIDICULOUS POLICY! Sony design a HANDHELD gaming machine and they don't expect people to take it with them on their travels!!!

Anyway, failing to make any progress with Sony, I said my goodbyes and contacted the individual publishers of the faulty games, Namco and Ubisoft.
They were more helpful and provided me with a RMA number to send them back with proof of purchase for an exchange that will be shipped to my Aunt.
Bad thing is, the whole process will cost me in terms of shipping and will take a few weeks for the games to get to my Aunt and then back to me in the UK. Oh well, better than shelling out $80 again.

I do feel sorry for Namco and Ubisoft though. Its not their fault Sony designed a ridiculously flawed and flimsy proprietary media format.
I can’t believe that its been little over a month and these games are broken already. My old Nintendo Gameboy games from 1989 still bloody work for goodness sake!
