Nintendo DS & Sony PSP - The PICTORAL Follow-up!

Well several of you have requested it, so here it is...
Following my first-impression report of the Sony PSP, here is a pictorial comparison of this exciting new gaming handheld alongside the Nintendo DS. I also measure the two new systems against each other in terms of basic criteria.

Here I am with two of the hottest, most sought-after gaming items of the moment!

Playing 'Ridge Racers' on the PSP

My brother uses the touch screen and mic functions of the DS during a game of 'Feel The Magic'. Yes he IS talking into the game!

Side by side comparison - note the size difference between both systems' media

BATTERY LIFE
The PSP holds a measly 3-4 hr charge compared to the DS' 6-10 hr
INNOVATION
Only the DS offers touch screen play & Voice command function!
MULTIMEDIA FUNCTIONS
PSP can play MP3 audio & MP4 video out of the box via expensive Sony memory Stick format.DS can play media via cheaper SD cards with purchase of a £35 add-on.
MULTIPLAYER FACILITY
Both devices are equipped with WiFi capability for multiplayer and online gaming.

PRICE
lik-sang.com comparison -  DS priced at £101.28, PSP priced at £202.13
STORAGE MEDIA
Tie - PSP takes high capacity (1gig+) optical media while DS takes card format. PSPs media results in lots of 'Now Loading' screens while DS' game access is instant
SCREEN

PSP all the way. Although the DS has two screens, PSP has very large, widescreen with brighter, sharper display and higher resolution.
SIZE
Both units are around the same size.
WEIGHT (Build)

The DS seems more robust and durable compared to the fragile-feeling PSP. DS is built to last like a toy, but  the PSP sports a slicker, sexier build.
